raised bed help pls

we want to raise our bed , what soil should we get to put on top ?

We need to order 1 ton , where would be cheapest ?

Hi, you need some topsoil. You would be able to order this from any builder's merchant. My boyfriend's a landscape gardener and I think that he would say to not neccessarily go for the cheapest. You need soil that is sifted so that all the stones have been removed. Of course, the cheapest might be fine but you don't want to get any old debris the builders scraped out when digging foundations!

As above, there are builder's merchants too. You want screened soil and it would be good if they'd let you see/handle a sample first!

Hoping there might be someone along soon to give you a local recommendation, as that would be best.
