On this subject here is a cautionary tale:
I had an SSD order with several books. All were ready except one, which they had been trying to get for me for weeks. Eventually, I decided to cancel that book from the order and replace it with one of equal value, so as to continue to qualify for SSD. The mistake I made was to cancel the book from the order first. The moment I did that, the order got locked as "awaiting despatch" and I was not allowed to add anything to it, so I got charged for postage for the other books! I should have added the new book first, and then cancelled the old one. In this case, I made a mild complaint to Amazon (it was after all my fault) and they sent me a voucher for a couple of pounds to make up for some of the extra postage I had had to pay.Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here!

1 Official Buffy Vampire Slayer £4.79 1 £4.79
1 Official Kylie Calendar £4.19 1 £4.19
Subtotal: £12.97
Delivery Charge: £0.00
Total: £12.97
The following items will be sent separately:
Ordered Title Price On order
1 Top Trumps - Harry Potter and £3.99 1
1 Top Trumps - Harry Potter and £3.99 1
Payment in other currencies may be subject to fluctuations in exchange
rates and to charges made by your credit or debit card company.
So they are splitting my order, I assumed from previous e-mail they sent me that whole order would be delayed. I suppose I can cancel Harry Potter bits and still not be charged delivery.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
I recently placed an orde for three items on SSD, one was a pre-order but available in two weeks so was quite happy to wait - and they split the order. I didn't expect it, as with items that were 'available in 3-6 weeks' you wait... and wait.... and wait....

In my experience, Amazon do whatever they feel like with SSD.
I've had orders with 3 items come in 3 seperate packages within 2 days of each other, and I've had a (big) order held up by a release date, then when the release date came, another item went out of stock, and when that was back in stock, something else was not, hence no part of the order delivered at all (and then it got cancelled!).0 -
