Has anyone got local knowledge please?

I'll be flying down on a Tues eve and getting a taxi straight to city centre hotel. I really need a small car on Thurs pm to drive to Plymouth but will be returning to Exeter airport on Sun evening.

Is it best to hire from the airport on Thurs to make the return easy, or can someone local give me some ideas please?

This will be in about 3wks time.

Thanks for any help.....

  • To be honest, if your arriving at the airport, I think it would be far easier getting one there, may be more expensive to start with but will stop paying taxi fares to and from the airport.
plus the hassle factor as well

    hope this helps.

That had been our original thought, but we thought that parking an unused car in the centre of Exeter until Thurs would cancel out the cost of a taxi. What would parking cost us for two days do you think? 10.30pm Tues - 5ish on Thurs?

dont know where you are staying in exe, but has your accom not got parking,
i would imagine that full day parking, depending on where you park that is, can cost about 4/5 pound a day

We're in Queens Terrace and there isn't any hotel parking.

The taxi was the easy option due to arriving late. By the time we got the car, we might not feel like driving around a strange city.

£4 a day seems a bargain though. Do you know if we'd be able to get in that one so late at night?

the ones, muli storey in c/c are a bit more expensive, so just on the out skirts, very short walk are your best, dont go to multi story tho, use the open ground ones, might even be free at night

Thanks, I've found a map on line with parking places on it. So now to the car hire.

I've been looking at the prices of car hire on line and it is more expensive to hire from the airport than in town in some cases.

Anyone know of a cheap car hire deal in Exeter?
