Harveys has discovered a delicious new way of enjoying the nation’s favourite sherry as a refreshing summer cocktail. Those wanting to taste it should head to Film4’s Summer Screen at Somerset House where Harveys is the official drinks partner of this renowned series of open-air films. Harveys & lemonade topped-up with summer fruits and ice is a thirst-quenching, long aperitif which is ideal for enjoying in the early evening sunshine before the cinema starts.
Harveys Bristol Cream is the world’s most popular sherry and is made from a blend of Fino, Amontillado, Oloroso and Pedro Xim!nez wines from over 30 different soleras, aged on average between three and twenty years. Its fragrant aroma and rich mellow flavours makes it an extremely versatile sherry and its fine wine-making heritage ensures that it always tastes sensational.
Film4 Summer Screen sees Somerset House’s magnificent Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court transformed into a full-scale open-air cinema with state of the art giant screen, 35mm projection and surround-sound, with an inspired programme of premieres, classics and recent favourites. This year’s films are:
Thursday 31 July 2008 - Hellboy II: The Golden Army
<!--[endif]-->Friday 1 August 2008 - Pan's Labyrinth/ The Exorcist with Peter And The Wolf
Saturday 2 August 2008 - Brokeback Mountain
Sunday 3 August 2008 - O Brother, Where Art Thou?<!--[endif]-->
Monday 4 August 2008 - L!on
Tuesday 5 August 2008 - Fellini's 8½<!--[endif]-->
Wednesday 6 August 2008 - Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb
Thursday 7 August 2008- Singin' In The Rain
Friday 8 August 2008 - The Elephant Man and Wild At Heart
Saturday 9 August 2008 - Scarface
To make Harveys with lemonade, simply pour one part Harveys Bristol Cream and two parts lemonade into a large glass jug. Add a selection of juicy summer fruits – we suggest strawberries, raspberries, limes, oranges and lemons – and plenty of ice.
Harveys Bristol Cream, 75cl RRP £7.88, is available at Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose, Somerfield & Co-op.
We're giving you the chance to win one of five pairs of tickets and a jug of Harveys sherry cocktail at a Somerset House movie screening of your choice
