                    Need some advice.
I am taking my wife to London in August for 2 nights and to see a play.
I have found a hotel + ticket package staying in Hammersmith for £100 each. I would drive here and leave the car at a freinds in Chiswick. We would use tube to get to the west end and taxi it back. The second night we are meeting friends locally.
But, I have also found a package at a top London hotel, its £130 each. Its a great hotelm luxory, and local enough to walk to the theatre. However this would mean I would have to take the train (cheapest I could find is £30 each) raising the price to nearer £160 each.
So is it cheaper to stay in the center, no tube or taxis. Or stay out of the centre with free parking but taxis and tubes and the hassle of travelling!
I'm stuck and need advice!
Any ideas? Something I am missing?

Why would you have to take the train - couldn't you still park at your friend's house and stay in the centre?0

save yourself the hassle of driving in London , and take the train , a nice relaxing start to your weekend .
Arrive in London nicely refreshed , ready to enjoy your weekend rather than bedraggled after spending 2 hours to travel 10 miles !
last week it took me 1hr40 mins to travel 7-8 miles
and as you are taking your wife , wouldn't the luxury hotel be a better option anyway .
But if it is within walking distance of the theatres it also means it is within walking distance of shopping ! - bigger expense"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
 happy travels !!
