Cheap accommoation in Shropshire? Pls help...

I am looking for some cheap accommodation for 4 nights in Shropshire (preferably close to Newport, or even better close to Harper Adams College).

I cannot seem to find anything on my quick search of the internet.

We are 2 adults and 1 child (2 and a half), and we want to travel between 6 and 9 December.

I looked at one website which quoted £440.00 for 4 nights (surely I could go abroad for less than that!)

If somebody could please help, I would be so grateful!

Thank you in advance!

B&B here may be worth a go?
if it's more than 10 stone, and that hairy, it's probably not a dog...it may be a wookie.
  • Problem solved- Travel Lodge Newport has £26 rooms for your dates:

    https://www.travelodge.co.uk/make_a_booking/availability.php?hotel_id=183&doa_dd=6&doa_mm=12-2005&stay_len=3&no_of_rooms=1&corp_id=&rate_plan=&agent_type=&agent_code=&x=53&y=8

4 nights will only cost you £104!!!! Not bad for 4 consecutive nights. Book now before they go ;)

The Travelodge is in the wrong Newport!
I live in the area and theres a few bed and breakfasts in Newport. Theres also 2 hotels and might also be some pub accommodation. I dont think there is any accommodation in Edgmond which is where the college is, unless the Lion pub has rooms. That would be your only chance in the village but Newport is only 5 minutes from the college. If you need any more help PM me.
  • I found this one Lane End Farm and this one Norwood House which seem to be in the right area and have triple and family rooms B & B for about 60- - 70 per night.
Lane End also has reductions for stays of 3 nights or more.

    Hope this helps!

    Another local lad here!

The two B&B's mentioned are fairly close but they are on the opposite side of newport to Harper Adams, a distance of probably 4 or 5 miles and 15 to 20 minutes drive.

Off the top of my head The Bridge Inn and the Royal Victoria are two places in the centre of newport that offer accomadation. http://www.royal-victoria.co.uk/

You're not entirely correct here. No its not in Newport but in Shawbirch. I think you'll find the linked Travel Lodge is only approx 6 miles from the college. At £26 per night, I think the 6 mile drive is well worth it.

It may possibly be 6 miles as the crow flies but you have the choice of taking the long route on good roads that is probably more like 10 or 12 miles or the shorter route which is across the back roads but not ideal for someone who doesn't know the area.
