As I am a Ltd, I have read that it is perfectly exceptable for my company to provide refreshments (eg tea and coffee) to my employees - anyone use this? Do you need to keep receipts?

Of course this is acceptable. You would need to keep receipts - presumably it would be paid from petty cash.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

It's amazing what you can legitimately claim as a small business working from home. However need to be careful with insurance and council as if they deem your home a commercial premise you get hit by higher insurance and rates!0

Don't forget you are not claiming anything - you are making a ddeduction in your accounts for business expenses. It does not matter where the business is based - the rules are still the same - all expenditure relating to the business must be shown in the accounts. It's your business and you decide that is necessary expenditure.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

I'm so glad the OP brought this up, it's something I thought of a while ago and forgot to ask.
I don't employ anybody at home, but I do have the occasional visitor who I have to make a cuppa for.
Can I claim for the odd box of teabags/coffee/sugar/pint of milk when it's only myself? If I was working for somebody else my employer would no doubt provide these!Make £2025 in 2025

You are not claiming anything - you are including a deduction in your accounts for business expenses. Business entertaining is not allowable for tax purposes, although I am sure this could be hidden in 'sundries'! Feeding yourself is also not allowable for tax purposes as we all have to eat and drink!£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

Tried googling more but couldn't find anything - although I know the last company I worked for provided free tea and coffee to it's employees.0

Just to add to fengirl's comment .... remember, you are BUYING the tea/coffee in the first place. Let's say that you spend £10 on tea/coffee. That's £10 you now don't have.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
