change gas supplier but not the transporter

I have used the switching web sites to find a capped deal on on my gas and electric prices and have found that my current supplier (e-on) has the deal that suits my needs best.
Using the comparison sites (I checked more than one to be sure) and having entered my annual usage of gas and electricity revealed that my total annual bill for both should be less than £400. My direct debit is £72 per month (£864 per year) and yet I am only 0.82p in credit. I just wonder about the accuracy of the comparison software.
Secondly, in the new spirit of openness which e-on now employs it appears that I must be charged an additional £42 per year because my gas supply is maintained by an independent gas transporter and not Transco (now National Grid).
It would seem that I can choose my supplier but not my transporter, if that makes sense.

When homes are built the builders try and find the cheapest company to install the gas pipes into your home, this virtually always means not using National Grid, it therefore means that you as a gas customer will forever have to pay for the builder using a different company as your gas not only flows through National Grid, it also has to flow through the IGT and therefore they want paying.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Not all suppliers charge extra for being on an IGT network.
Now you know you are you will need to take that into account when lookig at switching sites as tehy won't do it for you - they don't know if you are or not.

The a big diffrence between the dd and the amount told by the switching sites, what is your annaul consumption, are you converting the gas units used to kWh.

if you have a cubic feet meter units*2.83*39.2(this is an avarge of the calorific value the exact figer is on your bill) *1.022640/3.6

if your meter measuers in cubic meters its the same just take out the 2.83
