Removing Felt pen & 'smells' from wood.

I've got two questions, I saw a suggestion somewhere for the 'smell', but I cant find it now.

Anyway to clean up wooden floorboards to remove any smells where a dog has had an wee accident?

and secondly -

A delightful little child has drawn some pretty shapes on a wooden door, any suggestions on how best to remove them? I not sure if its water bsed pens or perminant markers

many thanks

Vinegar diluted with water and then squirted liberally over the affected area worked around the toilet area in a house I bought where they felt that anything above the floorboards was unecessary. There are proper sprays that neutralise the enzymes in wee but they're more expensive than vinegar, so I'd try that first.

Felt tip I've managed to remove successfully from walls with soapy water and then some bleach on a cotton bud in the past but I don't know how it would react with wood. If it has soaked in then you might be best sanding it out.

if on a gloss/non pourous surface try wd40 for the felt pen. we use it to clean permanent marker of of white boards.

(also good for removing stickers from things too)
