Chiltern railway ticket in advance

My nephew is coming from canada and wants to go to Cardiff. Can he buy his tickets online in Canada and ask for them to be delivered here at my home address? Or can I buy them for him online? Thanks

Your best bet is to buy them online for him and have them delivered to your address. Have him reimburse you when he gets here.

Buying online from Canada can be difficult - the rail booking sites are temperamental as to whether they accept foreign credit cards or not. If he can cajole them into acceptance then sending to your address would not be a problem.

Why Chiltern BTW? Yes they will sell any ticket without a booking fee but they don't go to Cardiff. Also specifying a non-Chiltern station on their site is non-obvious, though easy when you know how.

The National Express East coast website accepts foreign addresses and cards but won't deliver to your address as his CC address won't match yours.

Therefore he'll have to find a suitable fastticket machine in order to collect the tickets once in the UK.

I am thinking of him leaving at Stoke Mandeville to Cardiff. This is the route planner and if he buys in advance it can be as cheap as £14 single, but will he have to time to change from maryleborne to paddington. With these cheap tickets, I think he has to stick to the time. He is not used to the tube being canadian. I have never bought ticket on the internet and am a bit nervous. To get that price he has to buy in advance. Thanks

Not sure if that's true - but then I've never bought from that site.

But I do know that other sites (FGW, Chiltern, Virgin, Cross Country ....) all quite happily deliver to an alternate address that I've specified. Don't see why NXEC should be different.
