Bleeding Hen
I hope someone can help.
One of my hens is bleeding from the back end.
I have washed her and cleaned her and noticed that her back end was pulsating a lot, she looks a bit sleepy at the moment.
This has only happened this afternoon as she was fine when I left this morning. Any help would be appreciated.

this is information i pasted with your query sent to google
Well she could have strained and prolapsed, perhaps she also could have had a smashed egg inside her that has cut her insides. If I were you I'd get her to a vet pronto, as there could be risk of infection.
i ahev hens but not had this problem but am sure another with experience will be along to help good luck x0 -
Thankyou.
I will see how she gets on tonight, and keep you posted.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Just been to the allotment first thing this morning to see if she s ok lifted her out to have a look, no more bleeding but a fair bit of white discharge that has run down her back end, and is a bit smelly.
Cleaned her down again, cleaned her pen out, put in fresh water and feed, seems a bit perkier this morning.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

Don't mean to be funny but I can never understand why people waste time asking for medical advice on a forum when their animal needs to see a VET!!!
She obviously has some sort of infection going on which needs treating NOW otherwise you will lose her!
You should have contacted the vet yesterday afternoon when you first noticed she was unwell. By the time animals exhibit symptoms such as hers they are usually quite seriously ill as they will do whatever they can to disguise illness as a survival tactic from predators.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
I posted this to see if the situation had happened to anyone else out there, and to see if the hen pulled through or not.
After taking advice, the hen has been treated.. but not by a vet.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
