Is It Safe To Use Travelex Collection At Airport

I wish to use the travelex service as going on holiday Tuesday Morning early.I went through a quote for Euros and the rate was about 1.22 with collection at Bristol airport. My partner says something may go wrong so just a couple of questions: Have I left it too late to ensure i can pick up at 5.00am on Tuesday (states desk open at 4.00am)? Is it a reliable service?

Thank you in advance for opinion normally just get money from bank or Post office in person!

May stop my partner from worrying!!!- therefore peaceful lead up to holiday!

I've used airport pick up on several occasions and it is quite reliable. Make sure you have the credit/debit card with you that you pay with online.

We have used this service many times and would recommend it. Only problem we had is that the branch at our local airport opened later than was stated on the website, so you may want to ring and check that out. Otherwise, you should have no problems.

Just check that the desk will actually be open a good hour before you fly.

There is a Travelex at Aberdeen airport both before and after security, but I have yet to find it open when we have flown from there at 6.30am so would be stuffed if we ordered from Travelex.

I have used this service a few times and never had any problems. I have also used their best price promise (and recieved a cheque back) with this service.

I've only used it once at Heathrow. Never again, despite checking and double checking beforehand, the desk didn't open when they said it would so I had to wait nearly an hour, they didn't have my order ready and by the time I'd got it all sorted I only caught my flight by the skin of my teeth. I don't know whether that was a one off or not, but I wouldn't do it again. Way too stressful.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.

i,ve picked up currency many times @ the airport with Travelex, never had problem. they have always had it ready and been speedy.

just make sure you go to the right desk though !!! there are 2 at Gatwick for example and i queued at the wrong one once to be told i had to go to the other (main) desk round the corner . when you order it should give desk location and opening times , but a quick phone call to check cannot hurt.
don't forget the card you ordered the money on and photo ID ( you will surley have you passport , so no problem there ) or you will be screwed
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

They take your money when you order online. That's how they make their money - your cash is in their account earning interest for the time between you booking the Euros and picking them up.

It's very reliable - never had a problem at all. They're a well-known, established company who have dedicated sections in every major airport - definitely nothing dodgy to worry about!

    Thanks for the advice.

For some reason I thought that the last time I used this service the man at the airport charged my card when I picked up the money. Maybe things have changed slightly since then!
