Sorry to hear about your daughters health, i hope things improve for her soon, :-*
what is your budget? most girls/young ladies would always be happy to recieve make-up, perfume, some really lavish body, face cream stuff, moisturisers, cleansers etc you know the more expensive things that you'd love to use, but wouldn't dare spend so much on yourself kind of stuff.
Maybe a new fancy state of the art mobile ?
shoes, ladies love shoes lol ;D
Jewellery, my fav's gold if your offering, lol ;D
what kind of things is she in to, could you give more info to help us think up something for you. ;) ;D

I also have depression, and symptoms vary. But the opportunity to pamper onesself in a fancy bubblebath, or have aromatherapy candles, perfume, the like, can help in two ways. One, pamper; two, aromatherapy for mood lifting or relaxation. I recommend Lush for their lovely smells and gifts.
That's my suggestion.0 -
Hello hoskins
What about a kitten or a puppy? Maybe watching the antics of a young pet will make her feel a bit better?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the 'I wanna' and 'In my home' and Health & Beauty'' boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. i too have suffered from depression, how about a gym membership or a trial membership. exercise helps to lift the depression, maybe you could go together.0

What about finding if there is a masseuse/reflexologist in your area? I used to go to a wonderful lady when I lived at my old house and she did a wide variety of treatments and she used to sell gift vouchers too.
You may also find that some of these 'treatments' help with depression, but most importantly, find someone qualified first.0 -
Those are all great ideas
Having suffered depression for many years myself, I would say the best present would be to show her you love her in everyway you can. A lovely idea is to fill a decorated box with slips of paper each with something positive about her written on it i.e, you are a very special person, i love you more than you know, you will feel better, I am ALWAYS here for you......that kind of thing. Those things are so very important and they will always be there for her to take out and look at when she's feeling all alone in the world.
I hope things improve for her soon xxxxxxSome people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0 -
Following on from the positive messages idea you could make a scrap book with photos of her as a baby and add little thoughts about how you felt when you first held her etc, this can be carried through the years to the present day charting her life and achievements. Leave plenty of space for her to continue to add her own thoughts, feelings and pleasures. often writing down what we feel is a good way of working through problems and it is often easier to write it down than say it.
I hope your daughter can fight her way out of this illogical and oppresive illness and wish you well.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
A diary with full pages (not those with just a couple of lines) and pen so she can pour out her feelings with a box of tissues and a box of chocolates to go with it. Write something special for the first page, either something meaningful from yourself, or try HERE or similar sites for some ideas. Put more quotes, jokes, sayings etc on pages throughout (not EVERY page - just every few days / weeks) for her to find as she comes to them (I mean do this BEFORE giving it to her BTW, not keep adding afterwards!).
Maybe something she can make like cross stitch etc. Focusing on creating something that can be picked up and put down whenever is helpful.
The pampering stuff, especially aromatherapy is a great idea as well.
Anyone got any inspirational / uplifting / thought provoking book ideas?I'm a little angel BUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL
