big up the london massive!
ms_london, yes it's great having a boyfriend, but the charm is slightly tarnished when he ran up the £24k of debt in the first place!!!
I have to say that, as a northerner, I dreaded coming down to london as i thought it would financially cripple me, but actually I've found that the city is really well supported in terms of well priced adult education classes, great parks, subsidised council gyms, and loads of free activities. We do slightly regret not being able to go out to some of the fabulous restaurants around town but hey ho. I did the time out 99p trial for thirteen issues when i arrived here, cancelling at the end of the offer of course, and now they've sent me a flyer to take up the offer again! Yay!Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94
Current debt: £14,000.00
Debt free date: June 20080 -
I spent £108 on eBay!!! But it was to replace some chairs a friend broke - he broke two, I had to buy four, so they were £27 each, which is a bargain! Might try to sell the spare two.
45p on fruit for snacks

Hmmm, yep I suppose so :0)
There are definately a lot of free things to do, and a lot of sight seeing, walks, things to see/look at. Im not so sure I agree on the subsidised council gym though (ours is £46.35 a month!!!!), but you can definately do as little or as lot (??) as you want to.
I signed up for the 13 issues of Time Out, but I swear ive received double that, they just keep coming!!! (I cancelled the DD of course). Oh well.. Its a fab guide though, especially when its, well, free, almost :0)
Ive been here 3 years and to be honest ive been lazy in sightseeing, and hardly seen anything of London. But then having done 2 jobs for most of it hasnt given me much time.. Still, i must find the time.
Have a good weekend. xx0 -

HOW on earth did he break 2!!!, i can udnerstand one but did he smash one on the other lol
WillSShhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh0 -
OK - he sat on one, slipped his bum to the edge, then leant back onto the top edge. With me so far? The chairs are made of one piece of ply, so pressure exerted at either end, means the sealed ply in the joint cracks, breaking the chair.
He then sat on another one - and DID EXACTLY THE SAME THING!!!!
*shakes head in disbelief*
He's not keen on paying me back - talks about 'the money you feel I owe you!! - so his wife is giving me some free piano lessons instead. Which is great, except it necessitates having to spend £350 on a piano. *sighs* DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
