shell card from citi bank - online management?

Hi guys
I spend around £150 a week on diesel so i thought it was time that i got a decent cash back card. I got the shell card from citi bank, that offers me 3% back on fuel purchases from shell
I have been accepted and the card is in the post.
One question:
How do i manage the account? I cant see any reference to it being online? Do i just recieve the bill in the post like a more traditional card?
Also i have a credit card with hsbc that i use for travel with work. I always put more money on it than i think i will spend BEFORE i go away and usuall the card has money on it, rahter than me owing money on it.
Is having credits on the card a good thing (apart from the money i would loose if i had it in a savings account)
THanks

...but you will also receive a monthly statement through the post.
It could be a bad thing, because if your card is used fraudulently you may not be covered for any loss YOU suffer. ie Citi may only insure their money...not yours. Also i have a credit card with hsbc that i use for travel with work. Additionally, if the positive balance is 'large', Citi's anti-money laundering systems may kick in.0 -

good thinking i never thought about it like that!
i always just try and keep a small amount on there (£15) for some reason! As soon as i spend some money on it, i log onto my bank and transfer it.0 -

Personally, I wouldn't risk this again, particularly if you intend using the card whilst away.
Credit cards are not designed to carry a positive balance. Small amounts that arise temporarily (due to a refund, for instance) are okay but, like most credit cards, the HSBC
Ts & Cs specifically prohibit payments that deliberately place the account in credit. (Please see 5d. You should not make payments that place the account in credit ...etc.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Sorry for the long radio silence (site down, I think).
If you frequently put your account in credit, you may be investigated for money laundering. All banks are required by law to have systems in place that will flag up suspicious activity. Any transaction that triggers this mechanism means that the lender must freeze the account until SOCA (Serious Organised Crime Agency) is happy for transactions to recommence. Judging from posts to this board, these issues are not resolved quickly.
An horrendous story was posted here last year involving a honeymooner who had topped up his/her Halifax card to increase their spending power whilst abroad. Within days the Hally had locked their card and their honeymoon in the USA turned into a nightmare.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
