economic kettle?

The minimum amount of water I can boil in my kettle is enough for 2 cups of coffee - it annoys me :rotfl:

Is there a kettle out there where I can boil one cups worth of water at a time? I don't have a microwave.

You could get a travel kettle.

There is a Tefal kettle that claims to boil only one cup's worth, but I've heard it's not very good.

Pretty much any kettle with a concealed element will allow you to boil only the water you need.

    HI,

I only cover my element and boil up just over 1 mug worth,I drink hot water and even the kids know to check and fill kettle from my mug. This is only a cheapy from a supermarket but we've had it 3 years ( touch wood )with no probs.

Some people would suggest a flask filled up at the beginning of your day,but I like mine boiling so I would end up putting water from flask into kettle but it's still money saving.

I've got a Tefal Quick Cup

I LOVE it! My mum doesnt think the water is hot enough, so when she is here she microwaves her cuppa for 10 secs after shes made it. Its fine for us though, when we are at anyones house i have to wait ages for my tea to cool before i can drink it anyway!

But tea needs boiling water for the leaves to brew.

I gave the Tefal thing ago, and it's useless.
It's not like it is on TV with it dispensing the hot water effortlessly, it dribbles, it's slow and more to the point...it's not hot!
I've not seen one good review for it.

It's only good for coffee really.

Just get a flat bottom kettle with a concealed element, easy.
  • I've got the Tefal Quick cup too, I think its brilliant for the two of us, water comes out at perfect drinking temperature, but it is quite noisy so I've had to stand it on lots of cloths and teatowels to muffle the sound!

I do also have a standard kettle in the cupboard for when visitors come otherwise it takes forever to make everyone a drink!
