Problematic leaking toilet

Because of the time lapse, I appreciate that your cistern leak may well have been rectified. However, if it hasn't, then perhaps I can help. I have had a similar problem and sitting the cistern on two blocks of wood on the draining board and filling the cistern with a basin, I was able to see exactly where the water seeped from. It was coming down the sides of the exit pipe from the cistern and it was the new washer which was too firm to properly seal the connection.

SOLUTION: A contributer on another forum suggested that I seal both sides of the washer with Fernox LS-X and since I did this yesterday the cistern no longer leaks. Hope this helps.
