There is something I would like to bid on that finishes tonight but as it is on German ebay the description is written in German and I do not understand German so does anyone know how I can get a translation done?

You could try babelfish for a rough translation: http://babelfish.yahoo.com/
Just watch the payment methods though as there are still a few German sellers, not so many now admittedly, that don't take paypal.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thursdays child - as well as translating the item description, you may experience a problem should an issue arise during the transaction. e.g. How will you enquire where the item is you paid for, how will you explain the item is not as described, etc?
Always a risk buying from a non-English speaking country. Admittedly many younger Germans speak very good English, (or at least understand - they may still respond to you in German) but there are some that don't and the older they are the more likely they don't."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Thank you Rosemary 7391 but I expect I am too late to catch you now but the EBAY NUMBER IS 380045392873. Perhaps someone else can give me a gist of the item?0

Here you can bid on two items from the christmanbaumengel from the design of George Jensen from the Royal Copenhagen maufactures in Denmark.
Item does include packaging with branding
they are 11 cm high
the pictures do not do the item justice
all sales are final there are no garentees
postage cost 2.50 euros within the european union
any damages in the postal service will not be paid for by the seller and its at your own risk
only ships on friday0 -
they also say that payment is by paypal only too.
someone has asked a question in english and had a reasonable english reply too...TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0 -

not a problem Thursdays child
i buy a lot of things from Germany , there are a few good sellers there but its a real problem in finding them. Ebay Germany have slowly gotten sellers to take up the paypal method of payment should be ok TC if things go belly up. If i were you with this seller i would not buy with him/her will be very difficult to deal with some sellers have good langauge skills but others dont but the majority of them do.0 -

Most Germans use bank transfer as it's quick and free, unlike paypal."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

They used to, but most Germans now offer paypal as it has been fully rolled out over there, they originally had problems with the strict German privacy laws.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
