Same address, different browsers, different pages

This came up in the competitions forum, and I was just wondering if anyone could explain it. When I go to EasyJet's website, it brings up a different page if I'm using Safari, than it does if I'm using Camino.

This is the Safari page:

and this is the Camino one:

The Safari one picks up that I'm in Northern Ireland, but the Camino one doesn't. I was trying to find the "Win a year's supply of flights" competition, but as you can see, it's not on the Safari page.

Can anyone explain why the page differs depending on the browser?

They render the pages differently. Its like if you read a book, one person can have one interpretation and another can have a completely different interpretation.

HTML may be standardised, but none of the browsers completely comply with everything, hence the differences.

EDIT: The reason that the site might know you're in N.I. is that you might have done a search from Belfast Int'l and the cookie containing certain search info. was saved, and consequently used again in your other browser.

    Doh!

    Thank you!

This has been annoying me all night, and I overlooked the most obvious thing. I deleted the EasyJet cookies in Safari and the page now looks the same.

I don't remember looking for any EasyJet flights, but I guess I must have done.

    Thank you again!
