Paying a Credit card payment by Credit card

Hi

Not sure if this has been asked before but would like answers if possible for these circumstances.

OK credit card monthly payment needs paid, and no cash available. Is it possibe for amother card with 0% deal to pay the payment that needs paid like you would you a debit card or cash?

(nothing to do wiht transfering but actually making payment?)

No, the only way would be to balance transfer (or take a cash advance...NOT recommended!), if the lender would class that as a payment. They should do?

Some lenders have a minimum for BT's, usually £100 but others (such as MBNA) allow as little as £25.

You will probably pay a fee on the card you're transferring the balance to (ie the one you're making the payment from).

but its from an differnt card holder and account entirely? the prob is NO cash available for min repayment this month until wages are paid and bank on back.

Shouldn't be a problem. Rarely are you asked for the name on the other card when doing a BT.

i dont want to balance transfer, i just want to pay the minimum payment of card and get bank off the back?

It's not possible to pay a credit card bill with a credit card other than by way of a balance transfer.

The only way to do this is to take a cash advance on your credit card, but as YB says this is not recommended because it is costly (withdrawl fee and higher rate interest from day of withdrawl).

But If you really have no way of paying the bill I can't really see any other way other than perhaps borrowing from family or friends?

As I stated in a previous thread:

Some banks / credit card companies allow you to pay your bill of with another credit card as if you where paying with a debit card or cash or cheque. Thus no fee is incurred as a BT and no interest is incurred.

For example Asda Credit Card run by GE allows you to pay with a credit card. So in my circumstances I use the Asda card for fuel (2p off litre) and then I use my Leeds BS card to pay the balance off and earn cashback for the privildge. Then pay the Leeds BS card off in full by DD each month. So a win-win-win for me.

However alot of places will not allow you to pay credit on credit.

If you have online banking, try giving it a go and see if it works. But be careful in case it deemed as a cash transaction and fee/interest applied
