liberally dousing the inside with Bicarbonate of Soda will also neutralise smells (vacuum after 12 - 24 hours).
then hang a few heads of lavender. they will dry nicely and give off a lovely smell while deterring pests.

In Home bargains there was little pouches of beads scented with Jasmine.
Same as theses http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/291239205815?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108 but HB has them for 49p each.I have them in my wardrobes and they smell really nice. There were other fragrances.

You can also use a single drop of essential oil on cotton wool or other fabric to add fragrance after the bicarb has got the mustiness out. Cedarwood and sandalwood will keep moths away as well as scenting, lavender is quite traditional and any citrus is also very pleasant.

Excuse my stupidity here, but by dousing you mean throw the powder everywhere inside?

Just don't do what I did, I put the remains of a Yankee votive in the airing cupboard thinking the warmth would make it smell nice, the bloomin thing melted all over the bottom of the airing cupboard :o

Get your used Yankee candles (or similar beautiful smelly candles).

Boil the kettle, wait a few minutes to take the temp down from boiling. Fill the candle jar with very hot water. The wax will melt, as the water cools, it will solidify in a breakable layer at the top of the water level.

Wrap the wax remains in several layers of kitchen roll. Place in a small cloth / knitted bag or alternative. I used an open, small cardboard envelope that had contained a small package from amazon - worked really well. This should protect clothes and other bits from getting wax on it.

Now you have drawer smellies, and a glass storage jar for free :)
(ok, the candle was paid for, but you know what I mean :)

I keep a stock of the gel air freshener blocks (usually from Aldi) to use around the house and store the spares in the wardrobe. Keeps the wardrobe smelling nice but not overpowering.
