you and your neighbour both pay for a BB connection, but the signal u get is weak,
you might need to buy an extender or an ariel (from somewhere like ebuyer) then use your router to pick uptyhe signal, someone might have a better idea,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Why do you have a router, it's not in use is it?? Run an ethernet cat5 cable between the two. Move the wireless router nearer or higher to you. Add an external ariel to the router.0

maybe the 2 houses aren't joined as such, just a guessNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Our houses are not joined so there is no way we can do a cable type connection. I thought the idea of a relay signal of some sort would be possible.0

you can buy boosters other than that unless you want to go out and buy an Antenna (ariel just recieves and not transmits) and a special card that lets you plug in said antenna then a booster should be fine......or he moves the router to a better position etcIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
few things - what are you using to connect and what are you connecting to?
B. should be at least an 802.11g signal on a decent router on an upper floor (and as close to your house a possible). changing this to 802.11n would work wonders but probably not an option so...
A. i assume is a laptop. there's a few things you could change there, mostly using another router to connect to your neighbours router wirelessly and connect your laptop to that.
a simple and cheap way would be using a La Fonera from fon and replacing the firmware with something that'll work as a wireless client or bridge. bonus there is you also get to set up your own fon hotspot and get worldwide wireless access to other fon hotspots
another thing is to try directional antennas with both routers. again, if you get a la fonera you can buy the fontenna directional antenna for very little.
https://shop.fon.com but ask around before buying anything as i / others can get you discounts on things by refferals.0 -
Very kind, I will look into that.

i take that back. BT in their infinite wisdom have used their influence over fon to restrict fon's business practices in the uk. possibly even illegally. but in short, a la fonera's gonna cost some. so.... perhaps a cheap wrt54gl will do. although buffalos have better wireless range as-is.0
