                    Hi
My girlfriend and I are flying to Australia next March for a month for a wedding with out itinerary being:
22nd March England - Melbourne
28th March Melbourne - Sydney
2nd Sydney - Cairns
7th Cairns - Uluru
9th April Uluru - Perth
19th April - Perth - England
Now we have found that the cheapest way to get our internal flights is direct from the Qantas Australia (especially as they have a monopoly on flying in and out of Uluru).
Where we are having difficulty is finding the cheapest flights flying from England into Melbourne and flying out of Perth to England. A month or so when we checked London-Melbourne / Perth-London was £870 each but now it has gone up...
The best we can now find is Opodo - £966 each (though if you add it to your basket the flight then become £951) and I believe Opodo gives 2% cashback with Quidco. Expedia is £970 each (1% quidco cashabck) while buying direct from the airline is far more expensive.
So I was wondering if anyone knew of anyway we can get these flights cheaper or if anyone knew of a way to get a discount from Opodo or Expedia (discount codes etc!)

We have used Travelmood the two times we did our own itinerary to Australia. We also did a trip which included Tasmania and New Zealand so the itinerary was pretty complicated. They arranged all the flights, found us the best connections so there was minimal delays at the airports and the prices were better than we could arrange ourselves.
The weekend newspapers have travel pages with lots of adverts so you may find some keen prices being displayed there.0

We tried quotes from both trailfinders and austravel and neither could beat what we found independently unfortunately. Any other suggestions?0

We recently booked a similar trip (LHR - Sydney - Cairns - Brisbane - LHR) and got quite a good deal for our international flights through the Flight Centre. We are going with Malaysia via KL and even picking perfect arrival and departure times and going at a more expensive time (Jan/Feb) we got return flights for £1098 each.
We then booked our internal flights independently through Virgin Blue - all v simple and v cheap.
The only problem you will have is Uluru as as you say Qantas have a monopoly. I would highly recommend MA for their extended seat pitch and service (google them and you will see lots of awards/recommendations) but I know that there are sometimes Qantas flights (and I think Cathay Pacific ones) which include internal flights in the package.
