Help

I have had a credit card with Morgan Stanley for approx 5 years, then it changed to Goldfish and then recently in April 2008 i recieved a letter saying they were transferring business to barclays bank and i was to carry on paying as normal when my statement arrived. I then noticed end of April still no statement or other letters from them, so i rang , they said a statement was in the post, i waited, rang again, they said another statement was on it's way from barclays. nothing in May, then dated 9th june i get a letter saying i was to pay the arrears of £1067.00 within 28 days which i did and in along with this was a default letter, but still no statement. So i put together a letter asking why the default if i had had no statement and did not know where to send my payments and who had my business of the debt, who did i pay ? and also what amount was the debt ? (i do know it's about £6 or 7k but i have a good well paid job.) I got a letter back this morning saying that in April 2008 they passed on my debt to a debt collection agency ! i have no other letters from any agency come though and surely goldfish or barclays (whoever as i don't know who has my business) should of contacted me , what do i do, where do i go ? i have written a letter of complaint saying it should not of been passed to an agency as i did not default they failed to communicate with me. and when they did not contact me i paid the arreas and i am surely upto date ? but even this month no statement or anything off an agency what happens now ? i have rung the national debt helpline and they were no real help, but did say that the debt has to frozen until it is resolved , is that right ? i will take them to court if i have to as this is just not fair
someone please help as i don't want a bailiffs on the door or to even have to pay extra cost to an agency and surely all those late charges that must of gone onto the debt are wrong ?

Too many "thems and theys' " in this post. No actual company names . Who did you pay the 1067.00 to ? It must have been Morgan Stanley or Barclays or the collection agency. I would start there . If it was the collecting agaency then i would ask them who passed the debt to them and go back one step at a time till you reach whoever held your debt.
