I have just discovered the Utilities Warehouse web site. It claims to be cheaper for all your utilities etc etc etc.

What site are you talking about the main site https://www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk/store/club.taf?exref=
    say,s i quote

"We provide a wide range of utilities services: home phone, mobile phone, internet, gas and electricity. We guarantee low prices, and offer the simplicity of all your services together on one monthly bill."

It does not say its cheaper for all Utilities.

Here Here Quentin has always had a bee in his bonnet for UW. Ive always said yes there are companies cheaper at this present time but for how long? One year good price next year well up...Thats why people chose UW because they know there will be a good rate all year and every year from the day they sign up.Ive been a customer for 9 years and never had a problem with them,never..I have personally signed up over 150 customers and rarely encountered a problem.Usually the problems arise from the company they are trying to leave.

And has for trying to sell to family and friends,,why not HELP them to save if they are with the monopoly companies paying way to much? I dont see a problem with this.

Have they got a fixed/capped price deal then?

I do when people are swapped to Utility warehouse by a "friend" that has a vested interest in getting them to swap. To me they are just as bad if not worse than door knockers as they use the fact that they know people as friends to make sales. Its abusing trust plain and simple. If one of my friends tried convincing me Utility warehouse was the way to go I'd be reconsidering our friendship.

Hi Neil,im sorry i dont understand your reply?

Pluschris, in the village that i lived until recently everyone knew everyone and i dont know about you but my friend has a garage, his prices were not any better than the big boys but i used his services anyway to support him, same as my hairdresser,my local shop, etc etc.I do this to support local small business rather than giving my money to some company who doesnt care who i am,because they are my friends.
Now these people in my village all used monopoly suppliers, just on gas and elec, line rental and phone i saved most of them £150+ per year. So they save money and support me in my business because they are my friends.I will ask again, where is the wrong doin here?

Whilst Quentin clearly has an anti-UW agenda, IMO his posts are balanced and above all accurate! So keep up the good work Quentin!

I heartily dislike the ethos of UW; it seems to me based on the tuppaware party principle.

Products of any kind should sell on value!

They are your customers not your friends.

A friend would simply help them get the best deal. You got them to sign up to your company. Nothing wrong with that, but don't kid us you did it as you are their friend!

If you were truly motivated by friendship you would have shown them how to get the best deal!

The difference being the guy from your local garage didnt knock on your door or talk you into getting your car serviced while you were in the pub. You chose to use those services of your own doing. How many of the village actually came to you to get the gas and electric changed? Not many I'd bet.
