Hi All, Not sure if this is in the right section feel free to move it to the appropiate section if necessary.
Anyway.... Lost both my parents with in approx 18 months apart of each other. I started counselling 6+ months after my mother passed away. The counselling is now coming to an end. Basically what I wanted to know is a few kind words so i can write to my counsellor and tell her how much she has helped me with more than the Bereavement issues. She has been a tower of strength to me. As you can guess, I'm not very good at putting words of this nature together.
Thank you.

Bumping this thread for you.
I'm not able to help specifically with the text as it'd be quite personal to you but perhaps you could offer a testimonial (for brochure, webpage) of how good she is if she needs it?"Life is like a game of cards. If your not good at writing this type of sentiment down, how about a nice thank you card with a verse in ?Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

Or how about a hug!

I once said thank you to a Doctor...he appeared surprised!
I think a bunch of flowers and a card would be nice.

I think that this says it. You could write in the Thank you card suggested by iceicebaby'You can't change the past, you can only change the future' Gary Boulet.

I think what's most important is to say something in your own words. This person has listened to you for six months - they will know if you've written it yourself. It doesn't have to be anything long or fancy, just say what's in your heart and it will be accepted in the spirit it was written in. Don't get hung up on saying the right thing...it doesn't exist.0

Thank you.
I agree, this would be enough and would be very touching. If you wanted to add more maybe you could think about the specific qualities of her and her work that you have found helpful...
for example:
empathy, listening skills, understanding, sensitivity, patience, warmth, humanity, helping you to reflect and accept/learn/develop/look forwards,
I think she would be delighted to know that she has helped you, and that you are thankful. Death is such a tough thing to deal with, and if she can help people come to terms with this she is undoubtedly a special person,
best wishes,
