Ford Fiesta / Volkswagon Polo ?

both cars are easy to sell on and will more or less hold its value depending on engine and trim. i think the vw will be a better bet because of better built and durability. prepare to pay good price for one.

VW image still portrays good build quality & commands a higher value, when buying/selling on.
Fiesta is cheaper to buy initially & Ford alwayd are offering first class deals, on new - sometimes free insurance, that could make depreciation non existent (if you swap it again, with a free insurance offer next time).
Make sure you choose a higher spec model, to make yours more atractive & nicer to live with now, for when you do sell it.

I agree - the shape of the depreciation profiles for fords and vws makes the ford a better bet 1 year oldI think....0

I've owned both Fiesta's and Polo. Both good cars.
But I'd go with the Fiesta everytime. The fiesta's generally have better spec, cheaper insurance, cheaper repair bills.
With the polo your paying a premium just for the VW badge, tend to have a tape player not CD player on the newer models. The repair bills were masive on the polo. I was once charged £300 for a service, they called me 40 minutes after I dropped the car off.
At the end of the day its a car, its sits on your drive, in the supermarket car park and you drive it a few hours a week. Go with the Fiesta.0
