poor deal from comparison sites?

I have been searching the comparison sites (energysavingonline, uswitch, the energy shop etc) for fixed price electric deals. They all said scottish power was my best bet, costing me an extra £70 ish annually. I decided that was worth it, so went direct to the scottish power website to check the small print. I ran through their price comparison pages, and they calculated an extra cost of only £54! So even with £15 cashback, going direct was cheaper! Or do they calculate differently, somehow shaving some money off to make themselves look better? I put in EXACTLY the same details each time - same usage/payment method etc, and the chosen plan was named exactly the same.

The savings are going to be the same however you switch as the tariff will be the same, if SP say its cheaper on their site then maybe it will be, its the same tariff so you may as well go through one of the sites that give cashback.
Anybody ever thought it could be SP and not the comparison sites that are giving false readings?
After all, if they show the biggest saving you may switch with them rather than going through a cashback/comparison site (which they would have to pay)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Also the Scottish Power website is flawed from the start, you cant put in the tariff I'm on in their comparison page, at least you can on comparison sites.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
