I assume you have an Economy 7 tariff and a double indicator meter that supports that? In which case the fact you use more night than day units is only common sense ..... the Econ 7 tariffs are only viable if that's the case.
While it's true the higher the percentage you use on the night rate the more beneficial Economy7 will be you do not have to use over 50% on the night rate for it to become viable. I have GCH and an E7 meter and use approx 20-25% on the night rate which works out slightly cheaper than all my units being charged on one rate.0 -

The confusion was you because in your opening post you stated:After close inspection of my bill someone pointed out to me that I use significantly more nightime than daytime units.
No need to explain now; You original quote was with reference to the bill. The second is what you really do use.0
