What make is your tv and how old is it? a degauss coil is last resort you might have another problem if you are want to use one I ued to use my weller soldering gun which did practically the same thing0

Its a 15 year old Panasonic and well it aint gonna harm to give
it a whirl not only that I have a spare PC monitor that can be
stripped to take out the cable as described in above post..
And it would work out dearer to buy a soldering gun.....0 -
What exactly is wrong with your telly? All tellies actually have a degauss coil built in but for severe case of magnetism you need a seperate degausser. Guess what, any transformer will do the job I used the tranny out of an old fish air pump works better than commercial units! If you don't know what you are doing however best off taking it down to your local telly repair centre! (the telly NOT the air pump LOL)0
