UK to USA voltage convertor

I've been looking for a reasonably priced 240V to 110V convertor for a printer that I bought in the USA a few years back. I stumbled upon this convertor being sold at Maplin:

but was alarmed to see this model number referenced on the London Fire Brigade website!!

If the fault in this model has since been fixed (the fire brigade website quotes the fault in 2003), you would have thought they would use a new model number?!
