Connceting to Outlook help!!

Hi I do loads of comps from this site and some require sending answers by email, however my outlook isnt set up properly. I'm not computer literate so could do with some help. My isp is with SKY and what is pop3? Well if someone can give me an idiots guide to setting it up I would be most grateful. Thanks
