    Kittykitten, maybe it's because we're right on the south coast:confused: .

    We don't usually have a 'winter' as such because we're protected by the South Downs (although we did have a huge amount of snow in March - the first since the 1980s I've been told - only moved down here in October last year).

    Everything seems to be fruiting earlier down here, the blackberries are almost ready :D and my autumn raspberries have already started fruiting !

    It turned out .......... not so bad but not so good either :rolleyes: ! lol

    Jelly isn't 'jelly' but more of a really thick sauce (maybe not enough pectin but I followed recipe so think that the apples probably not quite ripe enough yet). It's very sweet too but ............... ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS :D !

    I think we'll be using this to pour over a joint of pork as it roasts, or drizzle over some pork chops ....... yum !

    Next on the list is rhubarb and crab apple jam (lets see how that turns out:rotfl: !)

    Seems we share the same patch then Kittykitten, snow in March, South Downs behind us, and blackberries ready, picked my second lot today
