Koochi Pushchair, footmuff & bag £37.99

Hi all

I'm thinking about purchasing this pushchair from argos - Koochi Pushchair, footmuff & bag 376/1968 £37.99 (reduced from £99.99) - I just wondered if anyone has used it and has any opinions on it - good or bad?

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001001&langId=-1&productId=1500223411

This is for my first baby (born three weeks ago) so I don't really know much about pushchairs except for the fact that most people seem to buy a few before finding one that is right for them!

This will already be the 2nd one I have bought - we got a 2nd hand Inglesina(?) travel system, ditched the car seat, thinking we would use the pram/pushchair but it is very bulky, the frame is stiff and I can't get it up and down the steps outside my house on my own!

So I need something lightweight and that I can fold up and down easily...

Any thoughts?

TIA

It looks good value at least - as it's covered under their returns policy you could always get it and see what it is like?

This one only goes from 6 months up, but claims to be very light and easy to fold?

This one suitable from birth, £89 http://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/product-pulse-buggy-jet/100955901/type-i/

Have you had a look on ebay? What works for one person doesn't work for another; you might find something that is ideal for you.

  • I have this for my 3 month old (though i paid more for it grrr!!) and its great as a lightweight buggy. Ive used it since he was 6 weeks old. The changing bag is great, the seat fully reclines, and the fold mechanism is really easy to use! Plus the raincover is included, which is very easy to put on. And the foot muff is very cosy! Its a fantastic buggy for the price!

The other thing I would recommend to any parent is a decent sling. Expecially when little ones are small, it's much easier than messing about with a pram.
I have this one http://www.bigmamaslings.co.uk/zen-cart/pikkolo-baby-carrier-p-460.html. It's suitable from birth, and the straps that go on your shoulders are padded with memory foam. I use it more with Ds on my back at his age now.

Even more moneysaving - I cut up a duvet cover and made my own! There are plenty of patterns online and I find the wrap style ones more versatile as there are hundreds of different "carries" and a good woven one will last until the child is about 3. I will probably buy a proper German woven one when LO is bigger though as I'm not sure I trust the strength of the duvet!
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right

Does it lie completely flat? Very young babies need to be able to lie completely flat for their own comfort - and that should come first.

I hate to see tiny babies, unable to support their heads, in an upright buggy with their heads lolling. It looks so uncomfortable.

My youngest (who is now 17!) had a carry cot on wheels for the first few months of his life so he could lie flat, then when he got older and was able to support his head and take an active interest in the world around him it became a buggy that he sat up in.
  • It does lie flat, it is suitable from birth (as per the description) and is quite padded too

Then go for it - apart from anything else it's a great price :D
