    A Pismo!

Bet that's outlived three or four PC laptops. :money:

Buy it one of THESE.

They're a bit more expensive than the alternatives but they hold much more charge and are well worth it. :)

Illinois is 6 hours behind BST, so if you order it this afternoon or early evening it will be shipped today and will spend its weekend winging its way to you. :A

You and your Pismo deserve one. :xmassmile

I've still got a 400Mhz Pismo, works so well, beautiful design and holds a decent charge, despite being 8 years old!

Have a look here for batteries: http://www.global-batteries.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=powerbook+battery&gclid=CLjFlMPryZQCFQ2L1QodLlYVkQ

probably no use to you, but you may want to try the apple site....

my battery was knackered. lucky to keep half an hours charge in. looked on ebay - £30-50quid for a replacement.
absent mindedly googling to see if there was a cheaper alternative, i found a link to the apple site, where they had done a battery recall. mine fit the description. entered the serial number, and 10 minutes later, i had an email to say that a brand new battery was on the way. gratis.

much better than forking out my hard earned pennies :)
  • Thank you everyone for the recommendations....I am busy looking into them now.
I know to most people it is an ancient laptop but I love it to bits!

You have great taste. :happylove The Pismo was (and still is) a beautiful device.

I was going to buy a Pismo in 2001 but just as I was ready to, the first G4 TiBooks came out. So, I bought one of those, instead. But it met with a fatal accident.

Still have its replacement, though - a 1 GHz TiBook.

It runs OS 10.5.4 quite happily and it's been all over the world with me.

I've also got a Cube (upgraded to 1.2 GHz) as well; that runs OS 10.5.4, too!

I wonder how many people are running 6 year old PC laptops and 8 year old PC desktops on Vista?

Hope you qualify for a free battery replacement from Apple for the Pismo; but, if not, do go for the Newer Tech longer-life one I linked to.

I wish you many more happy years with your Pismo. :grinheart
