Theatre ticket 'booking fee' ripoff.....

I thought it was against the law to quote a price for goods and/or services, when those goods and/or services were not available for that price as there were compulsory fees added onto the price. I seem to recall hearing about this happening with airlines and the ASA taking a dim view. If any of the theatres involved have advertised ticket prices in print and/or broadcast media, it might be useful making a complaint through the ASA.0

suprise suprise your a Ryanair hater aswell... i shoulda known.
I don't quite understand how you feel able to make that assumption based on my factual comment that Ryanair got done for advertising seats without showing all the additional charges up front (as so many theatres or booking agents do). I didn't offer any judement at all about what I think of Ryanair.“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

I never book theatre tickets online anymore: booking fee, credit card fee, online fee, transaction fee, penalty fee because the moon is in the fourth house of Aquarius at time of booking etc etc. I've also experienced the situation where the online system shows all the cheaper seats to be sold out, only to find these to be freely available when buying in person at the box office. I appreciate that I'm fortunate to work in central London and therefore able to pay cash at the BO- I can't imagine how I would react if I was ever charged a fee when paying cash as in the original post. I imagine (hope) the theatre scene in London is competitive enough for this not to happen. They are an EYESORES!!!!0
