I currently have balance on my lloydstsb credit card on 5.9% lob, I have another balance on another credit card which I would like to transfer to this card, I rang them up last night and the best they could offer was 0% for 6 months, so I threatened to move my balance but they just advised me they could close the a/c now if I wanted. I know last time when I moved the balance to them the retentions department did the 5.9% lob with no fee cause I told them I was going to use my barclay card offer otherwise. So to cut a long story short I want to try retentions to see if they will match the deal my halifax card are offering at 5.8% lob but it does have a 3% fee. Has anyone had any success with lloyds tsb retentions lately? Could anyone give me the tel no through to them. I have tried the ones on saynoto0870 but they just get me through to normal cust services. Thanks

Yes the usual Lloyds TSB retention number appears not to work anymore.
You could just call and ask them to put you through to retentions - you may need to say that you want to close the card, then they will put you through.0 -
0845 601 8510 will get you straight through.
Sadly there isn't a freephone/geographic number listed on the 'sayno' website (other than the now defunct 0800 032 2044 number).0 -
thanks I will give that tel no a try :beer:slimming world:

Always best to contact customer services first and ask account to be closed. Some banks I've been told only have internal numbers for retention departments. Not sure why though?0

Disagree. At some banks, frontline CSA's have the authority to close accounts there and then (Morgan Stanley certainly, Halifax possibly?). If you're trying to tease a follow on deal from a frontline CSA, choose your words carefully, because if you don't they might be met with "thank you Mr xxxx, that's your account closed". :eek:Always best to contact customer services first and ask account to be closed.
It's sometimes possible to tease these out of CSA's, and if not there's always www.saynoto0870.comSome banks I've been told only have internal numbers for retention departments.

That is true. However some promotions on accounts are pre-determined depending on the risk of customer, which is sometimes stated on the log on the customer's account. That can affect anything from possible BT offers to vouchers.0
