What financial help would I be entitled to?

I am 23, and on a low income and planning to do some courses equating to A Levels so I can apply for uni. During my time at college, I can NOT have a student loan, and am too old for EMA so what can I get?

    Adult Learning Grant.

Link above. However, if you already have 2 'A Levels' or equivalent, you're not eligible.

if you don't have a level 3 qualification, you can get a Level 3 consession.

ALG is possible for either your first level 2 qualification or your first level 3.
  • Oh, I do already have both Level 2 and 3 qualifications; 12 GCSEs and 7 A Levels but I need to retrain and do certain BTECs so I can apply for a degree in my new chosen subject.

Are you sure about this? (By which I mean have you been told this by the universities?) I believe that it's rarely necessary to do a BTEC after A levels (and 7 of them at that!) and apart from anything else, you're likely to be bored stiff. What do you want to study at university and what A levels do you have? (Not being nosy - ex Careers Adviser talking!)

I'm afraid that you won't get any funding for a BTEC with those qualifications, anyway.
