Advice req. Mauritius + disability = ?

I may be jumping the gun, but I think any day now, I will be able to say that next May, we will be traveling to an island in the Indian Ocean (Mauritius) for a two week holiday combining our daughters wedding.

That being so, I may be calling upon several websites to offer/give/forward information, because my wife needs to use one of the three wheeled walking aids (the type that folds flat) or she has to hold onto someone.

She can walk miles almost effortlessly, but not unless she has support due to a loss of balance.

I suppose that as things are now being finalized, the holiday company/airline will need to know about this aid that will require being transported.

So before I go rambling on, maybe someone might have an input that is useful?.
