MFI Kitchens failuire to deliver

Hi all
Just come here for a rant and maybe some advice on what to do next!
Had my kitchen delivered yesterday from MFI, minus the extractor (£269) and filter (£39), which I was contacted about the night before. I was none too happy about this as I had paid in full by the agreed date over a month ago! Was told they would be due in August, but my fitter is coming next week to do the job.
Spoke to manager of services who was actually very helpful, who did try to get Bosch to deliver the items direct to me early next week. However they are out of stock so the earliest I could get them is August, so he told me to contact the store for a refund.
I checked online and saw I could buy a similar one from Co-Op and it would be delivered Tuesday so ordered it. MFI today have said they will honour the refund, but will take £60 off as they have already "paid" the insurance company for the "free" 4 year warranty they had thrown in! I did explain that if anything it should be the other way around (them give me an extra £60) since it shows on my bill as +£60 for the warranty, and then -£60 as a discount. As far as I was concerned, the free insurance was part of the deal, to bring the total purchase to a round figure of £1500 (it was the only appliance I had to buy btw!).
Got onto head office this morning and they are basically saying the same, that "legally" they have an amount of time to supply me the goods - 28 days - and are refusing to give me the full £308 refund, only £248.
I tell you what, this is the last time I buy from MFI!

This is ridiculous - you should be refunded the amount you paid. Maybe Trading Standards or CAB could give you some advice.0

What does it say in your contract about delivery terms ?"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

surely if there is no appliance sold/delivered then there is no warranty to be paid for by them
sounds a load of rot to meBaby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0 -
Thanks all for advice.
I was so frustrated by the whole thing that I went there before work yesterday evening. After a bit of arguing they agreed to refund the full £308. All's well that ends well I guess, although I will think twice before using these shisters again!
