ebay profits up

Obviously no down turn on ebay yet since this article says:
Net income increased to $255 million

Well, it explains why my fees are so high.

Mine too soo...just put on 27 items of clothing..all listed for under £4.99 with gallery but no listing designer or buy it now....ebay fees for this came to just under £10 and i've still got final value fees and paypal fees to pay yet! Starting to think it's not worth the hassle, even pay fees on postal charges! may try a car boot or something...Used to make an alright profit...not anymore

I wonder if they are going to charge Skype to Skype users, now that ebay own it?

I'm sure they will make us pay some sort of monthy membership fee for its use, ebay won't pay out billions of pounds for a service that will be free to use.

Voice over IP will ALWAYS be free. You only pay for calls made to landlines... which makes sense. Internet to internet calls don't rely on any technology a company has developed, and there are some open source clients out there... if they start charging membership, people will just change to a different client...

Its a bit like a company trying to charge for IM... like msn, yahoo etc. It would be corporate suicide. People would just write another client, another protocol, or go elsewhere!
