ikea are rubbish

I'll try to keep it short, I ordered and paid £1400 for a sofa from ikea in april. I was told at the time it would be 4 to 6 weeks home delivery, a few weeks later they called to say they could only deliver half now and then the other half whenever. I made it very clear I would prefer to wait and get it all in one go.
They called again after a few weeks and said it was all ready, so I took the day off work and waited. They arrived, but with only half a sofa. When i called them they said it had been lost in transit.
Anyway now there telling me september, I can cancel it but cannot have a refund on the half I allready have. They will only talk about a guesture of goodwill when they delivered it!
has anyone else had a similar experience with ikea

Write to IKEA stating that time is now the essence of the contract, giving a reasonable time for them to deliver the rest of the sofa, e.g by the end of this month - as it stands, they have not kept to their side of the contract by only delivering half of the sofa.

agree with Kill Bill. You ordered a set, they reneged on the contract, and are pulling a swift one. I presume the other half got lost and never found? b*ll. get your money back, and ask them to listen to the phone call with you stating you wanted full delivery.

this appears to me to be very crafty work on their part.
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

They have never had the other half, from what I can work out they are trying to find a new supplier. I actually really like the half I do have, I spent ages choosing it.
It's just if I do wait can I expect cash back or vouchers and how much should I aim for?
    thanks for your reply's guy's

They have failed to supply what you purchased. Ask them to collect the original as they are clearly in default of contract. Get all your money back.
