Buying a house in my name, but OH going to live with me..will they credit check him?

Hi All,
Well as the post states, I'm in the process of buying a house. However due to my partner's bad credit his name won't be on the mortgage. Instead my mother has kindly agreed to be a guarantor for me, with my partner contributing to mortgage and bills.
However, the solicitor has informed the building society that by OH will be living there but not named on the mortgage, and they understandably want him to sign a disclaimer stating he has no interest in the property. I don't see a problem with him doing this, as in a few years once he has sorted his credit out then it was my intention to name him on the deeds anyway as he is paying towards the house.
However OH thinks that the building society will credit check him, and then will see has bad credit history and it could cause problems.
Does anyone know if that is true?

they wont credit check him if he signs the disclaimer .
you could buy a house with Barry scott and have gordon the gopher living there as well the bank wont care as long as your not renting it out without informing them

Thanks robpw2, I didn't think they would credit check him, as he isnt the one borrowing the money from the bank etc, but he was adamant they would.0

You probably wont be able to name him on the deeds in the future without paying off or getting a new mortgage in both your names0

If you were to separate in the future (hope not, obviously) i think it would mean he couldn't legally chase money from you on the basis that he was contributing to the mortgage by paying you cash each month, as he would have signed a disclaimer i.e. if you sold if you split i don't think he could claim a share.Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Well we are on a 3 year fixed rate, and have plans to build an extension in the future via remortaging (this is like 5/6 years away at the very least), so were planning that by this time, OH would have sorted his credit issues out and so could remortgage in both our names, removing my mother as a guarontor by then. Obvioulsy these, are just plans at the moment, but we have agreed that when he has a better credit rating we will remortgage at a suitable time to add his name. I did think we would have to remortgage to get his name onto the mortgage though, but thanks for confirming lonestar1.
PoorDave - thanks, my solicitor did advise me what it meant, and although he really does have an interest in the house as he will be contributing towards bills, I don't really see how he can not sign it as surely that will cause problems with the bank?0 -

If you were paying half for years and years would you sign your rights away i know i would not as it would leave me penniless and homeless..no wonder he wont sign...breakups do happen...;)It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

You are asking for a mess.
If your OH could prove he paid bills, the mortgage and paid for renovations then if you split he could take you to court costing you more in the long run.
I suggest you have a proper talk with your solicitor.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
