What to do with tree stumps? Plants to hide?

This is our before and after.

The stump is still there - and growing on me.
We have quite a few more since. These in the picture, plus another few up the side of the garden - 12 stumps in total now. Think we're going to have to hire a man who can (complete with grinder!)

Have you tried looking at your local tool-hire shops? I've a large stump we need to get rid of and for 1/2 a day hire for a 'ripper' (which is used by the forestry commission etc.) was £23.50 (and a £60 deposit, but that doesn't count). The actual ripper and machine it was attached to was big and I suspect for strong men only (gutting as I would've loved a go) - but it's another avenue for you to explore.0
