Finding a last-minute holiday for a family of 5!

I have left this SOooo late.
But I'd like to take the family away (for up to 2 weeks) from around 3rd August.
Not sure where the best place to look.
People have said Teletext, but.....besides the price they give little information.
With three young kids, I can't take the risk of an un-named hotel, and would prefer at least a 3* hotel with reasonable facilities.
If it were just the 2 of us, we'd settle for almost anything (and have done so in the past).
Have looked at Keycamp/Eurocamp, but can't find any availability beyong 4 or 5 night stays, and don't fancy a 2 or 3-base holiday.
It's a toughy.....but anyone with any suggestions?
Not really bothered where, can fly almost anywhere. Cost of course needs to be considered.....
Cheers,
Don

I just booked a holiday two weeks ago for 18th August. We are going to a villa in spain, costa blanca. I just trawled the internet and found this on www.ownersdirect.co.uk (try villarenters.com too). I then went on to fly monarch and booked the flights separately and for two adults and two children it came to £1300! But that is of course self catering.0

Can you get to the south coast easily? If so, Condor Ferries offered me a deal this week for a chalet in Brittany for 10 nights. When I rang them they knocked £300 off their web price! £949 inc ferry travel instead of £1249.
If you go to Condor site here you can then click through to France Freedom holiday site. They said they didn't have any £599 tents left but did the above deal instead. Worth giving them a call if you fancy it as they were very helpful.
Condor also have other offers here.

Don, the cheapest option might be to search for the cheapest flights you can find and link them to accomodation and transfers. eg. Stansted to Barcelona Reus flights for 5 of you Mon 4th to Mon 18th £494.40 (bags extra) www.travelrepublic.co.uk 2 weeks s/c accomodation £1,238.70 and transfers via airport bus (pay on bus £10 per adult, £8 per child over 4 return, drops and picks up from hotel). You could alter dates airports etc to find maybe 10 days if more in your budget or 7?
You maybe could look at Centre parcs in Belgium as similar to keycamp etc and check prices for flights or ferry.0 -
Thanks fiverqueen. I gave them a call - they only have two sights available LesChouans and Bahamas Beach. Will have a think about it. The only downside is that they are in the exact same area of Vendee that we went to last year, so would have been nice to visit somewhere a bit different. Still worth considering though.....

This company source all the latest genuine deals with major and smaller, independent travel companies. The hotel is almost always named so that you can look up the hotel's website for more info.
Just check out their late deals and Top 20.0
