Can we have a Pet moneysaving forum?

Pets can be very expensive to keep depending on the type of pet you have; with insurance now available for pets and sometimes extortionate vet prices; I think it would make sense to have a section for us pet owners.

The reason I ask is because I have just got two new puppies; a cocker spaniel pup and an english springer spaniel pup and they are full of energy!

When I bought them; I had to get everything they needed; bowls; bedding; toys; food; vaccinations and regular treatment for worms and fleas; all in all along with the cost for both of them it was a very expensive endevour but worth every penny; but along the way I have learnt a lot and will share some of my learned methods below:

I bought them bedding; it cost me £35 for a big dog pillow bed; within 2 weeks they had ripped it to shreds. Bought the same kind of bed from a shop called Buyology in south wales and it cost me £5.99!!!!

I bought them non slip and tip dog bowls; cost £5.99 each from pets at home; same dog bowls from Buyology £2.99!!

Bought a dog fleece blanket for them from Tesco at £8.99; exactly the same blanket from buyology by the same manufacturer £2.99!!!

2 dog leads and collars from Pets at home a total of £14.00; 2 dog leads and collars from in-store £8.00!!

Total cost of dog toys from pets at home £20.00!!; total cost of the same dog toys from buyology £8.00!!

Total cost in puppy training pads £60.00; now im using newspapers kindly donated from everyone in work; price £0.00
Not to mention the vets fees; treatments and insurance!

Total spend from main suppliers: 149.97
Total spend from shopping around: 30.96

MASSIVE SAVING OF £119.01 (If only I had known earlier)!
