Hi everyone,

I'm after a cheap laptop just for home use, mainly surfing the web, storing photos etc. I'm certainly no expert but both of these models have much better spec than the laptop I'm using now which is on it's last legs (and nearly 3 years old).

I was going to buy this http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/product/index.jsp?pid=50974502 after reading this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1035523 but this one has also been mentioned

Which one do you guys think is better? Thanks in advance.

    your choice

    webcam verses speed
    webcam verses larger harddrive
Save £50 verses speed and larger harddrive

If I were you these laptops have a two to three year life expectancy go cheaper as you do not really need it to game or advanced graphics. So speed is not really a concern and if you don't have a large video or Picture or music collection the the 40GB extra is not a concern. See what is on the market in two three years time.

External harddrive are cheap as chips as well I am a IT pro and I don't use 80GB. Although I don't retain a lot of music.

Thanks for the reply. I will be storing some music but not loads. I'm not too bothered about the webcam TBH but would like it to be fast whilst using the internet (I have the fast broadband connection too). We are about to get a desktop up & running too so it's going to be a secondary computer whereas the laptop I'm using now is our only one (& is on almost constantly). Thanks for your opinion.
