I have been trying to find a capped duel fuel deal but no luck as i have a prepayment meter. my current suppier E.ON said they would charge me £100 to change the meters !!! I am changing ( rightly or wrongly ! ) to British gas where initially i will still be on a prepayment rubbish deal but they have emailed me and say after 2 weeks they will change the meter and put me on a diect debit capped deal and NO £100 CHARGE, fingers crossed !

I'd like to add my vote to using EBICo. No standing charge, no seperate tariffs for different amounts of units (best for low users), a not for profit organisation, all one tarfiif for everyone and the cheapest. Took me a while to find out about them.

Yes Ebico charge the same, no matter the payment type.

As of yesterday British Gas Pre payment customers can fix their price to September 2011. This is for Gas and Electricity.

Thank you for the heads up! They say it doesn't apply to token or smartcard customers but that if you contact them, they will change your meter for free - see the 'important notes' bit on the info page.

I'm so glad i found this thread!

We've been on a card pre-pay meter for our electric with NPower for 3 years. They never come out to change the price of the electric and so they keep sending us bills for 100s of pounds at a time. The last letter stating that they are changing the meter came in january and they still haven't done it.

I'm going to ring BG to see if they will change our meter for a credit meter too, the dual price capping sounds great. x
