Mortgage Protection Insurance

I am about to buy a property on my own. I have owned a property before jointly with my ex partner. I am being pushed by my mortgage advisor to take out unemployment/sickness protection for my mortgage. Which I think is necessary but it seems incredibly expensive. Does anyone know who is best to approach for this?

Many thanks

shop around .. research on internet / ask another "adviser"

make sure the terms suit your needs / priced accordingly ... ie is it worth paying for sick cover back to day 1 if your employers pay ypu 3m sick

    definitely shop around.

I had mortgage protection which i took out with my mortgage at £15.42 a month.

After looking on here and reading Martin's article, i went with Pinnacle and had better cover (sickness from day 1) for £9.77 a month

Pinnacle have had issues though so sometimes its not always the cheapest that is the best.
