My work mailbox is full so im getting "mailbox full" system message. All files have been deleted down so i am way below the limit. I have access to the system manager so i can see how big my mailbox is & its been way beyond the 7day 'keep deleted on system' settings.
Anyone knows where else to look as to why the msgs still appear?

yup everything has been cleaned up, i have access to System Manager which shows mailbox details direct from the exchange server & its a fraction of the allowed limit. so i is well confused0

Er are you working on a LAN (Local Area Network) or a standalone PC0

have you compacted the folders recently - makes a big difference especially if you have a lot of mail going through them."Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0

create a new outlook data file (.pst) drag all your "unneeded" mail into there. dont bother with auto archiving as it usually loses everything!A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

1 ) you've checked on the exchange server - is it your server mail box that's full or a local .pst file on your machine. You'll have x amount of space on the exchange server but if you're having your mail delivered to a personal folder then you're looking in the wrong place.
2 ) Like smcicr says you need to compact your .pst folder. When using .pst folders it grows but it won't shrink, even if you delete every single email your .pst file will still show as 2gig - if it's an Outlook 2000 pst file (even if you're on 2003 then it can still use an Outlook 2000 pst file).
If you've already cleaned up then go start > settings > control panel > mail > data files > choose the pst that mail delivers to > settings > compact now.
before you do it find your .pst file and notice the size, once it's done refresh the screen and see how far it's gone down.
You can also create another .pst file as an archive, if you're on 2003 when creating it use the option other than Outlook 2000 and you'll have more space in there.0
